Estartit is a true example of the quality of resorts available on the Costa Brava and truly unlike the stereotype believed to exist here thanks to resorts such as Lloret de Mar.

There are NO high-rise hotels or apartment blocks, NO Slammer bars, NO ticket touts and NO villains, well not that I know of anyway!

Estartit is a popular holiday destination still managing to maintain it’s old charm and character. It has a colourful and lively harbour, bustling with traditional fishing boats and pleasure craft. A magnificent sandy beach stretching for over 7 km, so there’s always plenty of room, even in August.

Located just a short distance out to sea are the Islands “Les Medes” boasting some of the most beautiful underwater landscape found in the Mediterranean, making Estartit a very popular destination for divers (see links).

Many fabulous first class golf courses can be found within this region of the costa brava with two of their finest, Emporda golf and Pals golf located right on Estartitīs doorstep.

With itīs local weekly market selling everything from leather goods to traditional spices and an array of itīs own local shops lining the back streets of the harbour and finishing at the church square where you will find many local festivals celebrated with local folk dance and music.

This truly is a delightful taste of old Spain.

Another advantage for the resort is itīs ideal location as a base from which you can explore and the enjoy the surrounding regions ;

SKIING – in the winter months itīs true to say that you could have breakfast by the sea and your lunch on the nearby ski resorts such as ……………… and enjoy a full day of fantastic skking and be back in resort ready for tea!

France – with the French borders being just an hour away, why not take advantage by taking day trips from here or even go and watch the rugby without the expense of staying  there.

The cities – There are many interesting cities in this region of Spain, the biggest of course is Barcelona, the Capital of Cataluņa, and just an hour and a half away or closer still you have Girona and Figareus both packed with site seeing gems and fantastic shopping and night life.
